Mashicuna, 2009, video 2’

Mashicuna documents the street performer, Mashi (means friend in Quechua), who travels once a year from Ecuador to the London street markets to perform traditional Native American flute music for money.  Mashi is half Navajo- half Incan, however cynics who think it seems unusual that a real-life Navajo-Incan would perform on the streets of London call his cultural authenticity to question.
